The Meaning of Seva

Seva means selfless service. It is an important part of spiritual life because it teaches us humility, compassion, and love. When we serve others without expecting anything in return, our heart becomes pure and our ego becomes smaller.

Seva can be done in many simple ways. Helping at the ashram, supporting those in need, offering food, keeping the surroundings clean, or speaking kindly to someone are all forms of service. What matters most is the intention behind the action.

True seva is not done for praise or recognition. It is done with devotion and gratitude. Through service, we learn that every action can become spiritual when it is performed with love.

At Swamy Ramanagiri Ashram, seva is seen as a path to inner growth. It reminds us that spiritual practice is not only about meditation and prayer, but also about caring for others.

Service done with love becomes worship.
